As she received her award, Raines’ told: “I am a mother without a son and there are a lot of people in the streets without a mother”. She further added: “And I feel like it’s a fair exchange.”
Soon after, Demetrius’ grandmother and biological father had passed away. It was her Twin sister who stepped in for her and showed her direction.
