Ryan Leckey, 39, is an American journalist from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He was born on March 11, 1982. As a result, he is a well-known American Emmy-nominated television personality and popular anchor.

He is well-known for his high-octane breaking news reporting and classic interviews with TV icons such as Barbara Walters and Regis Philbin, as well as politicians such as former President Bill Clinton.

He used to go to the same station as a middle schooler to pitch adolescent segment ideas to the general manager. Ryan started working behind the scenes in his hometown, learning how to run a newscast before switching to the news department a short time later.

Ryan mostly worked as a one-man band there, shooting, writing, and editing his own stories.

Ryan alone hosted his first broadcast at WJAC when he was 19 years old, and he reported, anchored, and filled in on the weather segments before leaving the station in 2005.

All while studying Communications at the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown for his bachelor’s degree.

Ryan also accepted a reporting position with WNEP-TV, one of America’s most popular television stations, in 2005. The station is located near Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Ryan worked mornings and weekends before shifting to Monday through Friday for the first two years, where he became a regular face on Newswatch 16 This Morning.
