Why Was Odumeje Idaboski’s Church Demolished? The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, founded by Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, has been demolished.
The government’s interest in urban renewal or development is a good thing. However, it doesn’t seem right to attack someone. It would have been preferable to discuss the issue and convince Odumeje of the plan.
Odumeje seems devasted and it is expected as losing property or a place where your connection is deeply rooted is difficult to let go. The subject became the topic of discussion over social media.
Why Was Odumeje Idaboski’s Church Demolished?
According to Governor Charles Soludo’s urban renewal plan, the Anambra state government ordered the Odumeje church in Onitsha to be demolished.
Moreover, over 200 homes in the Fegge-Onitsha, Ogbaru, and surrounding districts were targeted for demolition because they blocked and clogged the drainage channel, including the Odumeje church on Bida Road in Fegge, Onitsha.
It was good to bring change for the betterment, but there must be a communication gap between the government and Odumeje that he resisted the demolition. If he was spoken to or given an explanation of the reason for urban renewal, he might have let them demolish the church with his will.
Well, this is only the thought that communication would have made things easier. The assault and the disturbance of the development process were indeed not good. To mitigate environmental risks brought on by floods, the Anambra State Government began a significant cleanup effort last month to desilt the Okpoko and Onitsha rivers.
According to reports, the demolition exercise started on Thursday morning. Prophet Odumeje was seen in a video pleading for help as security personnel struck him in the face to prevent him from entering his church.
Was Odumeje Arrested And What Did He Do?
Attempting to halt the demolition operation, Prophet Odumeje was attacked by armed task force members, as seen in a video that has gone viral online. His several attempts to elude the security guards were ineffective because the demolition had already begun.
A pastor from Calabar named Goodheart Val Aloysius denounced Prophet Odumeje over the situation concerning the late comedian Ada Jesus. He asserted that Ada’s situation proved Odumeje is not a prophet and lacks prophetic skills.
Apostle Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere Odumeje was detained by the police in Anambra, Onitsha, in 2020 for reportedly burying a charm on the grounds of his church in Anambra, according to nairaland.com.
According to The News Agency of Nigeria, the identity of the object the suspect buried is unknown, however, locals near the church, which is situated along 88B BIDA Road in Onitsha, said it was a live animal. This time the church is being demolished.

The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry’s spiritual leader is Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, commonly known as Odumeje. A team of police officers and state actors worked together to complete the demolition on Thursday.
While the practice was going on, some Task Force agents attacked Odumeje in front of bystanders. They slapped and struck the cleric, accusing him of trying to thwart their mission and stop work.
There are many videos uploaded on the incident, that is shared on the web. Some people posted a tweet demanding the governor to take action against his task force as their behavior towards Odumeje was unacceptable.
