Is John Whaite Gay?
Paul Atkins, John’s partner and fiancé, and they have been together for 15 years; they got engaged on July 21, 2017.
Additionally, he acknowledged that when performing with Johannes Radebe on Strictly Come Dancing, he “fell in love” with him.
The TV star said that he “still loves” Johannes, but added that he feels that keeping in touch frequently would be disrespectful to their relationship.

John, who is in a relationship with his fiancé and partner of 15 years Paul Atkins at the time, said the couple ‘spent some time apart’ after he opened up about his feelings towards the South African dancer
The first male same-sex couple to compete on the show, John and Johannes, advanced to the final two before losing to Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice.
The pair separated for a while after the TV personality’s open confession to Paul about his emotions for Johannes.
But according to John, the pair was able to move past the conflict because they didn’t want to toss away their shared past.
While John and Johannes still communicate occasionally, he admitted that if Paul started to suffer with their friendship, he would be willing to call it quits.
Who Is John Whaite?
English baker John Whaite (born 23 May 1989) won the third season of The Great British Bake Off in 2012. He is a chef, a television host, and an author.
John Whaite was raised on a farm in Wrightington after being born in Chorley, Lancashire. Jane and Victoria are his two sisters.
He was offered a seat to study Modern and Medieval Languages at Oxford, but he decided to go to the University of Manchester to study Law because it was closer to his family. After taking his law examinations while shooting Bake Off, he earned a first-class degree in 2012.
He also finished a summer internship at prestigious law firm Eversheds Sutherland and had a brief stint as a banker in the asset finance division of the Royal Bank of Scotland. To pursue a profession in cuisine, he enrolled in studies at Le Cordon Bleu in London.
Whaite frequently appears on Steph McGovern’s Channel 4 midday program Steph’s Packed Lunch as one of its chefs.
There are four cookbooks by Whaite. John Whaite Bakes, his first book, was published on April 25, 2013, and John Whaite Bakes at Home, his second, on March 27, 2014. Perfect Plates in Five Ingredients, the third book, was released in April 2016.
The fourth book, Comfort: Food to soothe the soul, was released in October 2017. He published A Flash in the Pan in 2019 with recipes for cooking with just a stovetop pan.
He contributed a food column to The Daily Telegraph. In 2013, he briefly penned the “Hot John” column for Heat magazine.
