Karun Chandhok Fire Incident: Was Karun Chandhok Injured?
Karun Chandhok made a stunning escape from his car at the Goodwood Revival Festival after it burst into flames.
Footage from the festival has shown the former Formula One driver driving his vehicle before it sets on fire.
He then manages to navigate himself onto the grass before jumping out of the car to save himself.
The incident was captured on video, with his brother Suhail posting to Instagram to discuss what happened.
‘Scary moment for @karunchandhok minutes ago @goodwoodrevivla in the iconic GTO,’ he wrote.

Most importantly, I’m just relieved that he’s okay, but I have to admit that the driver’s quick thinking to get the car off the track and onto the grass was impressive. We believed that our hard experiences as a racing driver’s family were over, but I guess that’s just the way things are.
After his daring escape, Karun subsequently broke his silence and explained what went wrong while demonstrating how his boot had burned to a crisp.
Lucky to get away with it with just a burnt boot, he said.
“Something went bang, jammed the back wheels, and knocked me around.”
“Such a shame to end a race in my dream GT car like that, but happy to get out okay,” the competitor said.
Thankfully, he was not injured and he came out okay.
This weekend is the Goodwood Revival Festival, which is described as an “immersive celebration of iconic cars and fashion.”
After what happened with Chandhok on Saturday, they will be praying that there won’t be any more controversy.
