GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Maureon Andrell Desean McLeod, 22, was arrested last night and charged with sexual battery of a victim under 18 and attempted sexual battery of a victim under 12 years old, both at Greentree Park, in the area of the 3600 block of NW 19th Street.
The victim who is under 12 years old reportedly told Gainesville Police Department investigators that she was at Greentree Park at about 1:00 p.m. on September 18 and went into the female restroom. She said McLeod was inside the restroom and grabbed her by the hand, pulling her into a stall. She said he exposed his genitals and tried to rape her, but she ran out of the restroom and left the park.
The victim who is between the ages of 12 and 18 reportedly told investigators that she and McLeod had sexual intercourse four separate times at Greentree Park.

Post Miranda, McLeod reportedly denied having any sexual contact with the younger victim but said he had interacted with her in separate incidents. He reportedly admitted having sexual intercourse with the older victim.
McLeod is on probation after entering a plea of nolo contendere to a 2021 domestic battery charge in April 2023. A warrant for his arrest was issued in July after he reportedly violated several conditions of his probation, including not applying for jobs, not providing proof of having completed the Batterer’s Intervention Program, and not paying costs of supervision or court costs and fines.
Bail information is not made public in sexual battery cases.
