A MAN has been killed after being buried alive in a corn silo.

In Brighton, Wisconsin, about 38 miles south of Milwaukee, an elderly gentleman fell about 100 feet into a corn silo on Tuesday.

The Kansasville Police Department received a call about the situation in the afternoon, and first responders were quickly dispatched to the farm, per a post from cops on Facebook.

They located the man buried at the bottom of the silo but were unable to reach him for a period of time as several other departments responded to assist in the efforts to free him.

“KFRD personnel and apparatus responded along with mutual aid assistance from Salem Lakes Fire Rescue and the Kenosha County Special Rescue Team (SRT),” KPD wrote.

“KFRD personnel arrived within minutes and joined Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies in quickly initiating life-saving efforts to resuscitate the unresponsive man that was initially located buried under corn silage contained within the silo.”

They continued: “Additional units responded from multiple area agencies to assist with the efforts to rescue the trapped man.”

“Apparatus and specialized rescue teams from multiple area departments soon arrived on scene, including Bristol Fire, Pleasant Prairie Fire Department, Somers Fire Department and South Shore Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team (TRT).”

Police added in the post that every team on the scene attempted to use the equipment they had at their disposal to reach the man in time to save his life but were unsuccessful.

Through additional work from the crews, the body of the man was recovered within two hours on Tuesday.

His name has yet to be released, as police were to notify the man’s next of kin first.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has since opened an investigation into what occurred.

The shocking corn silo death is one of at least two shocking developments out of Wisconsin over the past week.

As The U.S. Sun previously reported, a horrifying murder case between Taylor Schabusiness, a 25-year-old mom, and her ex-partner, Shad Thyrion, 24, has come to a close.

On September 26, Schabusiness was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for the killing of Thyrion at her parents’ house in February 2022.

Schabusiness was convicted of homicide, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault in July for strangling Thyrion with a chain, sexually abusing, and dismembering his body.

In court, Schabusiness could be seen in a spit hood given to people who risk spitting or biting others.

Although the reasoning behind the hood was never specifically stated, Schabusiness had attacked her ex-lawyer in court when her trial was delayed months earlier.

The lawyer later filed a motion to drop her as a client and was replaced.

The presiding judge detailed each of her crimes and explained his verdict.

“There is a need to protect the public,” he told the courtroom.

“This behavior is so removed from humanity with this kind of defense with no advance warning signs, absolutely anything is possible.”

He added: “This crime offends human decency, it defends human dignity, and it offends the community. It really does.”
