A TENANT has said her landlord accidentally threw out all her belongings after her roommate was evicted and blamed her for the mix-up.

TikToker Ivy, who goes by Ivynicholeee on the social media app, documented the moment she arrived home on May 8 and realized the locks to her apartment had been changed.

When Ivy was finally able to access her apartment after help from the front desk, she entered an empty apartment.

“Immediately when she opened my door, I panicked,” she explains in the three-part TikTok post.

“All of my things were completely gone. So in my mind, and her mind, were ‘Did I get robbed?’ But, the keys wasn’t working to my door.”

Ivy said her roommate cleared her room and handed over the apartment keys to the landlord a day before after being evicted.

After the front desk assistant called the general manager, they explained how they had moved out somebody’s stuff the morning of May 8.

But, instead of it being her roommate’s stuff, it was Ivy’s belongings that were tossed out.

“They said that my roommate was technically supposed to have room B, and I was supposed to have room A,” Ivy explained in the video.

She goes on to explain that when she first moved in, the keys she was given only worked for room B, assuming that was her room.

“So, he [general manager] came all the way here and told me what happened and that they took all my stuff, and he didn’t exactly explain where it went,” she said.

“So, I’m assuming that they threw away all of my things,” Ivy added.

The distraught tenant explained how the general manager asked her to write up all of the things that were thrown out, and he would reimburse her for it.

“Everything that I came up with was about $19,000,” Ivy explains.

When she handed over the note to the apartment management, they only offered her $2,000 to $3,000.

“How is that gonna cover everything that I lost?” she stressed in the video.

“How is that gonna give me the chance to start over?”

From there, they apparently up the offer to $5,000 at most.

In a follow-up video, Ivy explained how she mentioned her situation to a relative who would contact her landlord to try and sort out her problem.

However, she stressed how the emotional damage was already done.

“I’m very grateful for anything that comes my way,” she said.

“But, when there’s something [taken] from me, and I’m not being treated with respect, it just doesn’t sit right with me.”

It’s unclear if Ivy was ever reimbursed for his belongings.
