Assembly Election dates 2023

The Election Commission announced on Monday that voting will take place in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, and Telangana on various dates from November 7 to 30. Votes will be tallied for the five states on December 3, setting the stage for the 2024 Lok Sabha election semifinals. At a news conference, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar stated that over 16 crore voters would be eligible to participate in these elections and that significant efforts are being made to provide an environment free from inducements. In contrast to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, where the Congress is in power, Chhattisgarh is governed by the BJP, Telangana by the Bharat Raashtra Samithi, and Mizoram by the Mizo National Front.

Rajiv Kumar stated at the press conference that there will be 1.77 lakh polling places in these five states, of which 1.01 lakh will have webcasting capabilities. Women will run more than 8,000 polling places, he claimed. After BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya compared voting for Congress to tossing a ballot in the trash, the opposition party reacted angrily, calling his comments an “insult” to the public. The BJP’s candidate for the Indore 1 seat in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections is named Vijayvargiya.

The nation, Madhya Pradesh, and Indore all require the Bharatiya Janata Party today. The country, the state, and the city all have BJP governments. What does it mean to vote in Congress? He said during a speech at a programme here on Sunday night, “Voting for Congress means throwing it (the vote) in the dustbin kept at home?” Ashok Gehlot, a three-time chief minister, has a strong mass following that the party can leverage for another run at the presidency. The charisma of former deputy minister Sachin Pilot still matters despite his marginalisation in the state. He continues to draw large crowds, especially from young people.
