CARLEE Russell has been found guilty of two misdemeanor charges after her faked abduction scheme drew national attention.
On Wednesday, an Alabama judge recommended the 25-year-old nursing student serve one year in jail and pay $17,874 in restitution.

He also recommended two fines of $831 each.
Russell vanished on July 13, 2022 after placing a 911 call claiming that a toddler was spotted walking down I-495 in Hoover, Alabama, just outside of Birmingham.

She showed up at her house unharmed two days later.
Police raised red flags over the incident.
They then charged her with two misdemeanor charges, false reporting to law enforcement authorities and falsely reporting an incident, on July 28.
She surrendered to police, posted a $2,000 bond, and was released.
Russell’s case is now going to be appealed in circuit court, according to local NBC affiliate WVTM.
