A HOMEOWNER placed a billboard in his front yard in response to his HOA and claimed he was willing to go to jail over it.
Richard Stephens, from Loveland, Colorado put up the sign against his HOA after he was asked to remove a flag.
The large red and white billboard alleged the HOA would be a threat to future homeowners.
This sign said: “If you are considering purchasing a home in Alford Meadows you may want to reconsider…
“You could be the next target of the HOA!”
When asked why he put up this sign Stephen said: “I felt it was the only recourse I had.”
Stephens was served with a summons from Alford Meadows Community Association and was requested to move the flag and the sign, in August 2017, according to ABC affiliate KMGH-TV.
The lawsuit was later settled and Stephens agreed to remove the sign and the flag but he initially stood his ground.

The homeowner had painted a wooden pallet painted as the colonial American flag on the side of his home.
His HOA argued that the pallet should have been removed as it was considered a sign.
Stephens said: “I love my country you know I served in the military and it just expresses where it started.
Stephens’s wife Colleen claimed that she felt some members of the HOA were targeting them for the political support of Donald Trump during the election.
Colleen said: “Someone does not like our political affiliation because of that they started this vendetta.”
Rich said that he was not willing to move but he was willing to go to jail, according to ABC affiliate KMGH-TV.
He added that he wanted a letter of apology from his HOA to remove the billboard.
The lawsuit was settled in September 2017 and Stephens removed the sign and flag in exchange for the HOA promising not to bother him over the pallet again, according to court documents seen by Loveland Reporter-Herald.
