Alison Albrecht is an American 23-year-old singer songwriter from Novi. She is a contestant on the 24th season of NBC’s singing competition The Voice.
Alison began performing at nine years old and she has not stopped since according to her website. Albrecht’s parents gave her a guitar when she was growing up in Novi and she played all over metro Detroit, and also at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
As a sixth grader, she opened for the Steve Miller Band in Detroit with her original music and a few short years later, at 14, she made her first EP and her songs were played on the radio.
After graduating high school, however, she doubted music was a full-time option and instead enrolled at the University of Michigan, studying biopsychology, cognition and neuroscience. In her junior year, she again was pursuing music by livestreaming and performing in person. She has self-released award-winning EPs and singles, including her 2022 release, ‘Hurricane’.
The Novi native later relocated to Los Angeles to chase her musical dreams. She strives to combine music and songwriting with the mental health field, advocating for marginalized voices and supporting individuals with diverse experiences.

Before her performance, McEntire said, “I don’t want just country, I want different styles. It’s not really the genre that gets my attention, it’s the individual singer and what they bring to the table.”

“You have the range, but you have that sincerity in your voice that I absolutely love,” McEntire told Albrecht after her performance.
“I liked Alison’s voice,” McEntire said. “I think she’s gonna really grow on the show and surprise all the coaches.”
