AN IDYLLIC-looking three-bedroom house sold for just £500,000 but potential buyers were left stunned after discovering the entire roof was missing.

The seemingly stunning pad located in St Johns Park, Sydney, looked like a respectable brick house, but only from certain angles.

Images of the bizarre property were shared online and showed the conventional-looking red-brick building sitting on a huge patch of 625sq metres of land.

The house appeared ready to move into, but other pictures revealed a glaring problem.

In a photo of the kitchen, debris and litter fills the room and the walls reach to the skies as the entire roof is missing from the property.

Parts of the tiling appear to be torn apart, and the wooden cabinet on the wall is barely hanging under the exposed beams of the home’s old ceiling.

The roof is reportedly missing from the property after a large fire tore through the house, leaving the interior open to the elements.

The real estate agent who miraculously sold the property, Blaz Dejanovic, told Yahoo that the pictures of the home’s structural deficiencies were included in order to be completely transparent with homeowners. 

“We tried to showcase the house exactly the way it is. We don’t want to sugarcoat anything hence the photos you can see,” he said. 

But despite the missing roof, other images of the home show it has a solid structure, as well as a single bathroom, garage, and large backyard space.

The property listing describes the destroyed home as a place that offers “endless possibilities” and a space that can with some work, be transformed “into the perfect family home or investment property”.

They also explained that the home’s top selling point was its location in the bustling western suburbs of Sydney.

The home’s listing indicated that there was an ample selection of local schools, parks, shops, and public transport.

But the dire state of the property racked up major attention online with several internet users declaring the home a “warzone”.

One Reddit user joked the property had “a lot of natural light”.

Dejanovic revealed that no open house inspections were held before the home was auctioned off as the property was intended to be sold as a plot of land.

He said that potential buyers had the option to visit the site themselves, although he noted it was also “fenced off” due to its “hazardous” condition.

Despite its shocking state, the property still gained interest from 15 buyers due to the location.

The successful buyer shared they had intentions of knocking down and rebuilding on the land.

The property at 51 Brisbane Road in St Johns Park, around 37 kilometres west of Sydney, sold for £500,000 in September. 

It comes after one couple won a stunning £1.4million home but were shocked to find that half of the house was missing.

Kevin and Andrea Griffin, who bagged the expansive Australian pad, said it was stripped of decorative and luxury items when they turned up.
