Janks, a former interior designer, had seen a collection of nude photographs of herself that her stepfather had, while she was cleaning his house for him.

Merriman’s body was found in Janks’ driveway, in San Diego County, California, under a pile of boxes and blankets on New Years’ Day 2021.

The 911 call a friend of Janks made to the emergency services on January 1, 2021 has been released in a new documentary on CBS and Paramount+.

An interviewee in the documentary said: “She accidentally bumped his computer and the screen saver came up.

“The screensaver is a nude photograph of her in the shower.

“She was able to find a lot more nude photos of her, hundreds.”

Janks revealed her claims of years of abuse when she appeared in court this year, according to Law and Crime.

She said: “Tom came into my life when I was just a little girl and exerted influence during that early stage of development when I was just figuring things out.

“Unfortunately that influence manifested itself into inappropriate touch, coercion, reckless behavior, and complete violation as what I now realize years of psychological manipulation.

“All of this came crashing down on me when I noticed hundreds of naked photos of myself on his computer and felt shattered.”

Jurors accepted the photos as a motive for Janks to supposedly “pick Merriman up from a medical facility, ply him with whisky, and then wringing his neck and cutting off his oxygen supply,” according to Law and Crime.

Janks also supposedly gave him prescription drugs to make his death seem like an accidental overdose.

The defendant’s father called Merriman a “sick, perverted individual” in an address to the court, according to Law and Crime.

A 911 call made by an apparent good friend of Janks’ from the night after Merriman’s murder was shown, in the new documentary.

The caller said: “Last night a friend of mine asked me to come over.

“She said that she had possibly killed her stepdad.

“I don’t know if she really did this.”

The 911 dispatcher responded: “What exactly are you trying to report?”

This caller said: “It sounds like she killed this guy.”

The documentary also shows investigators admitting that there was no evidence of strangulation and their expert said he had not been strangled, despite the call alleging this.
