I’ve rescued 35 dogs in two weeks… they were just hours from death but now all live in my house with me

A HERO has managed to rescue 35 dogs in just two weeks, many were just hours from death.

Lee Asher runs The Asher House, a charitable animal sanctuary in Oregon, United States.

He took to his Instagram page recently to post a series of pics of him with a little pup that now have a better life thanks to his efforts.

Lee wrote: “35 dogs rescued in the last two weeks and I can’t wait to introduce you to all of them.

“This little guy is a 12-year-old mix who was found as a stray.

“When his owners were contacted by the shelter they didn’t want him anymore but I fell in love with him right away.

“He’s such a little legend, I’ve named him Danny DeVito. I named him that because I named him after Danny Devito, the world famous actor.

The adorable pooch is seen wearing a blue top when being held by Lee who has a huge smile on his face.

The post has become a huge viral hit after just a matter of days, attracting more than 100,000 likes and more than 2,700 comments.

Lee was universally praised for his efforts while many others condemned the actions of the previous owners.

One person wrote: “Thank you for continuing to be the outstanding human you are and for saving this little guy!

“I will NEVER understand why humans are so cruel and throw animals out like they’re trash.

“They’re family and if you can’t treat them like that for their entire life, then don’t get any.”

Another added: “Who could throw a dog away like that? Thank you for doing what you do.”

A third simply said: “Marry me.”
