THE FBI has warned of an increase in threats on the United States after the Hamas attacks in Israel.
Director Christopher Wray noted the uptick in copycat Hamas domestic threats while speaking at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in San Diego, California, on Saturday.
Wray stressed that police chiefs and the public be on the lookout for suspicious activity and report intel to the appropriate authorities in an effort to prevent “lone actors” from committing devastating acts after being inspired by Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, per Daily Mail.
The director continued that threats of domestic terrorism had increased due to a “heightened environment” from the conflict overseas.
He stressed that the FBI was doing everything it could to face the threats made head-on.

Wray explained the bureau was “committed to continuing confronting those threats,” whether based in the US or internationally.
Along with the stark warning, Wray also offered condolences to Israel, noting his “outrage” at the “sheer brutality and disregard for innocent lives” amid the ongoing conflict.
“History has been witness to antisemitic and other forms of violent extremism for far too long,” Wray explained in a speech at the conference.
“Whether that be from foreign terrorist organizations, or those inspired by them, or domestic violent extremists motivated by their own racial animus, the targeting of a community because of their faith is totally unacceptable.”
Israel defense officials also noted on Saturday that “significant military operations” in Gaza would commence after the area was evacuated.
