THIS is the terrifying moment rollercoaster riders were left trapped dangling in the air.
Thrill seekers on The Rage rollercoaster in Adventure Island on Southend seafront were stuck for over half an hour this afternoon.
Shocking video shows seven people in the carriage hanging about ten metres up.
The Rage, which is the park’s biggest rollercoaster was built in 2007 at a cost of £3million.
It is the second time this year the ride has broken down – with riders also left trapped in July.
Marc Miller, Managing Director of Adventure Island, said: “A carriage on Rage was stopped on the lower section of the lift, via the rides dual process safety PLC.

“Our trained team initiated the rehearsed measures, which have been certified by the Health & Safety Executives.
“The group of friends were all in good spirits and down, safe and sound in under 35 minutes and then happy to carry on with their day at Adventure Island.
“Rage then went through its full testing processes to reopen later in the afternoon.”
The destination is described on TripAdvisor as the U.K’s No.1 free admission fun park.
In a previous list of the country’s best amusement parks, it came in third place, beating some of the more famous parks like Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and Alton Towers, which were fifth and 10th in the list.
The rankings were produced as part of the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, meaning its position was based on public opinions.
The “biggest and best” ride, according to the theme park’s website is Rage, which has loops, twists and “flat-out speeds”.
The ride was said to be the inspiration for Thorpe Park’s Saw.
