A BOY of five has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by an elderly knifeman in Poland.
The youngster was on a trip with other preschoolers in the city of Poznań when he was stabbed in the street.
It is understood the children were walking in the Łazarz neighbourhood when they were ambushed by a man wielding a blade at around 10am local time (9am GMT).
A five-year-old boy was knifed and is now fighting for his life in hospital.

He is understood to have gone into cardiac arrest after being stabbed in the chest.
The knife was knocked out of the man’s hand by a passerby before he and an off-duty policewoman overpowered him, Epoznan reports.
A 71-year-old man was then arrested as worried parents rushed to pick up their kids.
In Poland, children attend kindergarten until the age of seven.
