Iconic popstar Madonna is reportedly in advanced talks to perform at Glastonbury.

The US singer kicked off her Celebration Tour last week with a sold-out performance at the O2 Arena in London. She will then head off around Europe and North America to celebrate her four-decade career.

Now, The Sun has claimed the 65-year-old could be set to add a slot at Glastonbury in her calendar for 2024. It would be one of the biggest-ever pop performances at the Somerset festival.

To date, the legends slot has seen performances from the likes of Kylie Minogue, Barry Gibb and Tom Jones. The 2023 slot was performed by Elton John.

A source told The Sun Madonna was in late stages of talks to perform at the festival. They said: “Negotiations are well underway between Glasto organiser Emily Eavis and Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary.

“Both teams are keen to make it happen and striking a deal shouldn’t be a problem. Emily was blown away watching Madonna perform in London and is desperate to get her on the Pyramid Stage next year.”

Organiser Emily Eavis earlier this week fuelled rumours the Queen of Pop could appear at the festival. “She’s back! Incredible,” Emily wrote on Instagram after going to watch the singer earlier this week.

Emily – daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Evis – faced criticism last year after the festival was headlined entirely by male acts, including Elton John, The Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses

At the time, the organiser said she did have a female headliner booked, only for them to pull out. She added: “But next year it’s looking like we’ve got two female headliners, so fingers crossed.”

According to its website, Glastonbury will run between June 26 and 30 next year. Tickets are set to go on sale next month.
