Heartstopping footage shows the moment a black bear launched toward a child on a scooter – but was soon scared away by a man nearby. 

The young boy was standing near a fence when a large black bear suddenly started walking towards him. 

But in a moment of sheer bravery, the kid stood firmly and kept looking at the bear, which caused the animal to hesitate and stop walking. 

A staunch passerby who seemingly saw the child’s life was in danger then appears, raising his arms in the air in an intimidating manner and heading directly toward the animal.

Soon enough, a man who saw that the child’s life was in danger came running and raised his arms in the air in an intimidating manner. He was able to scare the animal away

In the TikTok video shared by @ruderocaloha, viewers soon saw the man successfully scaring the bear away in a few seconds. 

Once the bear ran away, the child rode his scooter while the man checked if there was no other danger to him or anyone else.

The boy’s mother, Brittany Hardy, shared a part of the video on her TikTok page. She wrote about her son’s bravery and thanked the man for all his help. 

‘My son wins staring contest with bear and scoots away after neighborhood visitor jumps in and scares bear away. Many thanks to this kind person for being there at the right time!’ she said. 

Many users praised the man’s heroism and the child’s bravery in the original videos comment section. 

One user wrote, ‘that man didn’t hesitate… that’s a man’ while another wrote: ‘You SIR just saved a child’s life.. Salute’

Once the bear ran away, the child rode his scooter while the man checked if there was no other danger to him or anyone else

Some also joked and said that the young boy must have gone home and simply said, ‘nothing happened’.

One user wrote, ‘That kid probably went home and said “nothing” when his parents asked what he did outside today’. 

Another also chimed in and said, ‘mom: who did you meet outside today, boy: no one, just some bear’.
