Gwyneth Paltrow is said to be the latest celebrity with her eye on buying a home in Cornwall.

The Academy Award-winning actress, 51, usually lives in Los Angeles, California, but seems to be hoping for a more quiet life on the British coast.

She follows a whole host of celebs, including the likes of Cate Blanchett, Jason Statham, Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci, who have all snapped up properties in the county.

But while her A-list pals have taken up residence in Mawgan Porth – now often known as ‘Hollywood-on-Sea’ due to its influx of famous faces – Gwyneth is seeking a more quiet location.

According to The Sun, she is looking for a home in the quaint village of Polzeath – a tiny picturesque village known for its large sandy beach.

A local told the newspaper: ‘Gwyneth has been in the area recently and has been looking at a couple of potential places for a holiday home.

‘She isn’t a stranger and has spent a bit of time in Cornwall over the years. But it seems the quiet and sedate pace of life in Polzeath has caught her eye.

‘Gwyneth has become the talk of the village and there are apparently two places she has her eye on.’

Her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, with whom she co-parents daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses, 17, also has a home nearby.

The secluded spot would afford the star some much-needed privacy and is worlds away from her busy Californian life.

The resident added that – far from people being irritated at the idea of another famous face in the county – most locals are excited about the idea of Gwyneth joining the community.

In August it was revealed that Jason Momoa was the latest A-lister to snap up a swanky home in the picturesque Cornish village of Mawgan Porth.

Located just four miles north of Newquay, A-listers are flocking to the tiny West Country enclave and building James Bond-style homes there.

The action hero, 44, is believed to have ‘fallen in love’ with the scenic area after filming his blockbuster film Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom just up the coast in Devon.

Last year, a source revealed that Oscar-winning actress Cate, 54, had snapped up a property in the town – thought to be worth more than £2million – and her agent later confirmed that the news was true.

Just months later, a fan couldn’t believe it when they spotted Hollywood star Jamie Dornan, 41 – who is known for starring as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades film series – at a petrol station after he moved into the area.

Alongside a selfie of herself and Jamie, she wrote on Instagram: ‘I went to get fuel and thought no way it can’t be but it was Mr Grey himself!’

But Cate has been blasted by Cornish villagers over ‘non-stop drilling and banging’ at her beachside cottage.

The actress bought the house in the village in 2020, but demolished it to create a five-bedroom ‘eco home’.

Locals have since begun to complain that the ‘noisy building work’ is affecting their standard of living.
