DECEASED crime boss John Gotti was once the head of one of New York City’s most notorious crime families.

In 1992, he received a life sentence after being convicted of several crimes, including murder and racketeering, but his wife, Victoria DiGiorgio, remained by his side until his last breath.

Who is Victoria DiGiorgio?

Victoria DiGiorgio is best known for being John Gotti’s wife.

The pair tied the knot in 1962 and were together up until his 2002 death.

Born on December 5, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, DiGiorgio, who has half-Italian and half-Russian descent, has chosen to live a private life out of the limelight, making details of her personal life unclear.

When did Victoria DiGiorgio and John Gotti meet?

DiGiorgio’s love story with Gotti dates back to 1958, during a time when the world was still recovering from World War II.

That year, Gotti and DiGiorgio reportedly met at a local bar.

The pair dated for four years before tying the knot on March 6, 1962.

How many kids did they have?

Throughout the course of DiGiorgio’s marriage, she welcomed five children with Gotti, including Angel, Victoria, John, Frank, and Peter.

John Jr. was the only one to follow in his father’s footsteps, having previously served as the crime family’s boss from 1991 to 1999.

“I pretty much raised my children alone with Johnny being away for years at a time, so it broke my heart. I felt betrayed, the worst betrayal,” DiGiorgio said of her son’s life of crime, via the Daily Mail.

After spending six years in prison, John Jr. decided to walk away from the family business, and instead, focus on becoming an entrepreneur and writer, which left him feeling guilty.

“I’m home with my family and friends, and I run numerous businesses, while some of my former peers are serving life sentences, many for crimes they did not commit, often because rats lied about them,” he wrote in an essay for Men’s Journal.

“I often feel guilty I’m free and they’re not.”

Victoria went on to have a career in the entertainment industry as a writer and television personality, but her siblings often stay out of the spotlight so it is not clear what they do now.

Frank, the fourth child of the couple, tragically died in 1980 at the age of 12 after a hit by a car.

The death was ruled an accident, and criminal charges were never filed against the driver.
