Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes may have been roasted online for their secret handshake at last weekend’s Kansas Chiefs game – but insiders have claimed the new friends are feeling far from ’embarrassed’ and are in fact in the process of taking their bond to the next level by planning double dates with their NFL partners. 

The pop sensation, 33, and Brittany, 28, debuted their new move as they celebrated the Chiefs’ first touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night.

Their victory dance, which saw them clapping the backs and fronts of their hands before bumping hips, was slated by bitter keyboard warriors who branded it ‘cringe’.

But sources close to the pair claim they are shaking off the hate as they busily plan double dates with their respective partners, Travis Kelce, 34, and Patrick Mahomes, 28.

‘It’s hard for Taylor to make new friends she can trust,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘At first Brittany was threatened with everything that came from Taylor taking her spot at Kansas City, but after a few conversations and hangouts, she is eating it all up when it comes to them being friends.’ 

The insider continued: ‘Now they are friends, they both want to please each other and are working on building their relationship, so when people see their handshake and doing the girly girl thing, it’s exactly what people close to them expect to happen. They aren’t embarrassed by it.’

Turning their attention to the longevity of their budding friendship, the insider added: ‘Taylor and Brittany will hang out in the future.

‘There has been talk that after the season is done that Brittany and Patrick will see one of her shows overseas.

‘Although their friendship is mostly at the stadium, slowly but surely they are going to be doing double dates and hanging out with each other more and more.’

Brittany with joined in the suite at the Arrowhead Stadium by her children – Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon III, 11 months, and Sterling Skye, two – who she shares with her Chiefs quarterback husband.

At one point the retired women’s soccer forward was seen dancing with Taylor while carrying Sterling on her hip.

An insider has told DailyMail.com that the pair are planning double dates and hanging out

The pair appear to have grown closer since Taylor first cheered on her new boyfriend at a game on September 24.

The Shake it Off singer is reportedly being hailed as a ‘lucky charm’ by Travis, whose team have won their last four games. 

The tight end celebrated the Chiefs latest victory with a kiss from Taylor.

The picture, which was shared on Instagram by Travis’ team mate Mecole Hardman Jr.’s girlfriend, shows Taylor reaching up to her new man to plant a kiss on his cheek.

The loved up couple headed back to his mansion after the game where they celebrated with a BBQ meal.

They will no doubt be keen to spend as much time as they can together before Taylor kicks off the South American leg of her Eras tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 9. 

Despite the distance and work commitments, the pair are not believed to be worried about how they will cope.

An insider claimed both parties want their relationship to thrive, so aren’t allowing ‘nonsense’ to creep in. 

‘Sure, that is easier said than done, but they both are very mature and are really interested in making this relationship work,’ the source said.
