After sharing her frustration about potentially not being able to have her next round of chemotherapy, Amy Dowden has revealed she was able to go through with the treatment after all.

The Strictly Come Dancing star took to her Instagram stories to tell her 594,000 followers that she was given the go-ahead to have her seventh round of chemotherapy today.

The 33-year-old shared a snap of herself at the hospital alongside another patient who was having her seventh chemo session.

The pair can be seen smiling from ear to ear as they both hold up seven fingers.

She wrote: “Yayyyyy my blood platelets were all good to go for chemo 7 and it was lovely @kiimmbo.6 7th too (a fellow pink sister on a similar journey) for us both next session we should be ringing that chemo bell and I simply cannot wait!

“So good to chat again today all things chemo and breast cancer. The finish line is in sight for us both lovely.” (sic)

The Welsh native went on to thank the cancer unit at the hospital for making her feel comfortable each time she goes in.

Amy’s Strictly pals were quick to comment on the post and shared their love and admiration for the dancer.

Vito Coppola said: “Beautiful Amy we are counting with you every single day and we cannot wait for your return. and personally I’m looking forward to spin and lift youuuuu. Let’s goooo Amyyyyy.” (sic)

Fleur East wrote: “One step closer to ringing that bell!,” while Motsi Mabuse added: “I was thinking about you after last night instastory. Fingers crossed.”

Brave Amy also posted a video that showed her getting her treatment, in a bid to show the realities of what she and many others are going through.

To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the television personality shared the clip to raise awareness and help others.

Amy can be seen lying on a hospital bed as a nurse inserts a needle into her arm for her chemotherapy treatment.
