A LAWSUIT claims that a landlord forced a homeless mother of five to sign a sex pledge as part of her lease, threatening to evict her if she didn’t agree – but she got revenge in the end.

Candy Torres claimed earlier this month that her landlord Allan Rothstein asked for sexual favors to get rid of late fees on her rent.

She said in November 2018, Rothstein leased a house in Las Vegas and let Torres move in.

Torres claimed in the lawsuit that she signed a sex contract that Rothstein allegedly gave her in order to keep the house she and her children lived in.

The document was allegedly called “Direct Consent for Sexual Intercourse and or (oral sex).”

Court documents showed all the payments Rothstein got from the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.

The lawsuit claims the almost $25,000 in federal funds for Torres’ rent should have been all that Rothstein collected.

The trial first began in August 2022 but took an extended pause after Rothstein, 80, claimed his health was being affected due to death threats he received following media coverage of the lawsuit.

Rothstein claimed that he got the sex contract from the internet, according to court records.

Rothstein told a local ABC affiliate that he felt bad for Torres, claiming she was living in her car with her children when she tried to move in.

“Even though she had a terrible credit score,” Rothstein said he decided Torres would be a good tenant “if Section 8 was going to guarantee most of the rent.”

He then claimed that Torres allegedly said “she would do ‘anything’ to secure the lease…” and took that to suggest “Intercourse and sexual favors in lieu of monetary payment.”

However, those suggestions were “rebuffed” and Rothstein said he had Torres sign the contract so he “could not be accused of misconduct.”

Torres is the only tenant that Rothstein had this kind of agreement with.

Court records say that Torres never had any sexual encounters with Rothstein.

Rothstein has not admitted to any wrongdoing, however, an investigation by the Nevada Real Estate Division resulted in him losing his real estate license and fining him $94,000.
