The California baseball player accused of mowing down four Pepperdine University students has been released on $4million bond after pleading not guilty to murder charges.

Fraser Bohm, 22, is free after posting bond at 8.21pm on Friday, according to CBS News.

Bohm was charged with four counts of murder after allegedly losing control of his red BMW along the Pacific Coast Highway on October 17.

He is accused of killing Niamh Rolston, 20, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir and Deslyn Williams, all 21.

He pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday and had his bail lowered from $8million to $4million.

Bohm’s family was in attendance at the hearing, some of whom live with him in a lavish $8million Malibu beach mansion.

Scenes from the crash show the 6’4, 190lbs former standout high school athlete’s mangled red 2016 BMW.

He was gifted the luxury car for his 18th birthday as part of his wealthy parents’ divorce settlement.

A bail review hearing is scheduled for Monday morning and a preliminary trial hearing will be held on December 15.

Bohm’s attorney, Michael Kraut, claimed in court the former baseball star was involved in the crash because of a road rage incident that happened about three miles from the collision site.

‘We have evidence that the Sheriff’s Department did not want to take that clearly shows that there was a road rage incident that started at Duke’s, that this person chased him and tried to push him off the side of the road,’ Kraut told KTLA.

‘When (Bohm) accelerated to get away from him, that’s when the accident occurred,’ he added.

Witnesses claimed Bohm tried to flee the scene immediately after the collision before he was apprehended by stunned onlookers.

Footage obtained by KTLA from the night of the crash showed a grim-faced Bohm being given a sobriety test by cops while the mangled remains of his red BMW are seen being towed away.

Kraut claimed that security footage from the scene has been gathered to back up his allegations over a road rage incident.

He also alleged that the driver of the other car has been identified, adding: ‘The person admitted to a family member that they did drive him off the road.’

Early reports alleged that Bohm was speeding at over 100mph moments before the crash, but Kraut refuted these claims and said the ‘black box’ from his BMW will show he was driving at around 70mph.

The athlete, who has no previous criminal record, was initially charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence after the four college students were mowed down and killed – but he was released from custody.

All four of the victims were seniors studying at Pepperdine’s Seaver College of Liberal Arts in Malibu, and they were sisters in the Alpha Phi sorority.

The women were walking near a group of parked cars in the area of Pacific Coast Highway known as ‘Dead Man’s Curve.’

The college students went on vacations together, spent time in their sorority house with one another and often posed for formals together.

Video shows the group laughing over dinner and drinks together just weeks before their deaths.
