OFFICIALS are searching for FOUR American children who went missing after leaving their home in Chihuahua, Mexico for unknown reasons last weekend.

The brothers were born in South Dakota and were reported missing on Saturday, October 28, according to missing person announcements shared by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Chihuahua.

The four missing children include: Elías Gómez Herrera Luis Mendoza, 9, Ismael Gómez Herrera Luis Mendoza, 14, Issac Gómez Herrera Luis Mendoza, 12, and Madahi Gómez Herrera Luis Mendoza, 13.

Relatives of the brothers told police they did not know where the children could have gone or why they left their home, according to The Daily Mail.

The children were last seen at the home they share with their mother on Lázaro Cárdenas Street in the municipality of Meoqui, the alerts said.

Meoqui is about 50 miles from Chihuahua City and almost 300 miles from the American border.

AMBER alerts were issued by the Attorney General for all four children throughout the region to help with the search.

In an update posted to their website on October 30, the Attorney General said that their initial investigations revealed the eldest brother told a friend that they had planned on going to Oklahoma, where their father lives.

Investigators were able to describe the physical appearance of the missing children but not what they were wearing when last seen.

Nine-year-old Elías is 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds.

He has short dark hair and light blue eyes along with a robust build.

Ismael, 14 years old, wears glasses and is 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

He has a slim build and light brown complexion with short dark hair and brown eyes.

Ismael can be identified by the girdle he wears due to an old hip injury.

Twleve-year-old Issac also wears glasses and is 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

His short dark brown hair frames his face along with his oval-shaped brown eyes.

Madahi is 13 years old and is 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

He has short, straight brown hair and light brown eyes.
