A 10-year-old boy claimed he was the reincarnation of a Hollywood star after perfectly recalling the events of his past life.

Ryan Hammond from Oklahoma, US, insisted that he remembered being a famous actor in the 1940s and 1950s.

Making the claims as a 10-year-old back in 2015, the youngster even alleged that he was punched by Marilyn Monroe’s bodyguards during his past life.

But Ryan said he even remembered how he died – telling NBC his heart “exploded” before he headed towards “the light”.

Ryan believed that the memories he was recalling were those of Marty Martyn, who died in 1964.

Beginning as a humble movie extra, Martyn later became a successful Tinsel Town agent.

Despite marrying five times, he lived a life of luxury in New York and regularly holidayed in Paris.

However, Martyn suffered from a brain haemorrhage in 1964 passed away at the age of 61 not long after.

But 40 years later and over 1,300 miles away from Hollywood Hills in Oklahoma, Ryan claimed to be his reincarnation.

The youngster said he’d been experiencing the past life memories from the age of three and repeatedly begged his mother to take him to Los Angeles to “visit his other family”.

Understandably, his parents didn’t believe him at first, until he instantly “recognised himself” in a book on the Golden Age of Hollywood.

His mother had bought Ryan the book to help him find some answers but was left shocked when he pointed to a photo of Marty and claimed it was him.

Intrigued by the story of Ryan, a documentary crew even helped to track down Marty’s daughter – who confirmed his claims were accurate.

That’s when Ryan’s mother turned to child psychiatrist Dr Jim Tucker, who believed her son’s claims that he was reincarnated.

He came to this conclusion after 55 of the things that Ryan had recalled were true.

Dr Tucker ended up dedicating a chapter in his book, Return to Life, to Ryan’s case.

He said said: “The world just doesn’t work as we think or assume it does. The cases I have examined don’t come under a normal explanation of how we perceive the world.”
