FOR ALMOST three decades, Jeff Bezos was based in the US West Coast.
However, the Amazon founder has decided to relocate from Seattle, Washington, to Miami, Florida.
Why is Jeff Bezos moving from Seattle to Miami?
On November 2, 2023, Jeff Bezos announced he was moving from Seattle back to Miami to be closer to his parents Jackie and Miguel.
In an Instagram post, Bezos shared with his followers: “Seattle has been my home since 1994 when I started Amazon out of my garage.
“My parents have always been my biggest supporters.
“They recently moved back to Miami, the place we lived when I was younger.
“I want to be close to my parents, and Lauren and I love Miami.”
The Amazon executive added: “Also, Blue Origin’s operations are increasingly shifting to Cape Canaveral.
“For all that, I’m planning to return to Miami, leaving the Pacific Northwest.
“As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me.
“Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart,”
Where is Bezos from?
Born on January 12, 1964, Bezos is from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The tech figure is his mother Jackie’s eldest child and the only one from her marriage to Ted Jorgensen.

Bezos has two younger siblings; a brother named Mark and a sister Christina.
After moving from Manhattan to Seattle in 1994, he launched Amazon on July 5 of that year.
Regarding his resolve to relocate away from New York and start his own business, he recalled CNBC: “I pictured myself 80 years old, thinking back on my life in a quiet moment of reflection.
“Would I regret leaving this company in the middle of the year?
“All of those things that at the moment can be very confusing.
“I thought, ‘You know, when I’m 80, I’m not going to think about that. I’m not even going to remember it.’
“I found this fact on a website that the web was growing at 2,300 percent per year.
“The idea that sort of entranced me was this idea of building a bookstore online.”
He further remembered: “I wanted not to have regrets.
“I knew for a fact, I had this idea, and if I don’t try, I’m going to regret having never tried.
“And I know also, if I try and fail, I’ll never regret having tried and failed.
“As soon as I thought about it that way, I knew I had to try.”
