NEW details are emerging in the murder trial of Kaitlin Armstrong, accused of murdering a rival cyclist dating her ex-boyfriend.

Armstrong, 35, has been charged with the killing of 25-year-old Anna Moriah Wilson, who was found dead in May 2022 with several bullet wounds in an Austin apartment.

The much-anticipated trial was postponed multiple times and finally began at the end of last month, just weeks after the suspect was caught on video trying to escape from police custody.

The trial is expected to take several weeks as prosecutors and the defendant hear from multiple witnesses connected to the crime, including Armstrong’s ex-boyfriend Colin Strickland.

Strictland took the stand last week and shared details of his “tumultuous relationship” with Armstrong, who he described as his on and off again girlfriend, according to NewsNations’s Alex Caprariello (@alcaprari23).

Strickland told the court that he loved Armstrong, who he had lived with for at least two years, but was unsure of getting into a long-term relationship with her.

Armstrong seemed to have access to his phone communication and became jealous when she found out he was talking to other women, Strickland said, according to NewsNation.

He said that he met Wilson at a cycling meet years before during one of his break-ups with Armstrong, but that nothing happened between the two until later.

Armstrong was immediately jealous of his and Wilson being in contact, Strickland said — and made sure he knew it.

Strickland said that he once made a post on Instagram of a race finish with Wilson in the background of the video.

Armstrong quickly responded to the video with a short text that Strickland called passive-aggressive, reading, “Send my love to Mo.”

Strickland also said that he once bought guns with Armstrong and that she was much more technologically advanced than he was.

The jury has also heard from witnesses at one of the bars where Wlison was last seen alive and the investigators that were first sent to the crime scene, NewsNation shared.

Jurors watched footage showing the bloody room where Wilson’s body was found along with where evidence was taken from the home.

Another witness was a neighbor of Wilson’s who told the court that he had heard gunshots and then the sound of someone leaving the premises quickly on a bike.

But footage from other neighbors’ doorbell cameras showed an unknown black car leaving the area shortly after investigators believe that the murder was committed.

More surprising details are expected to emerge in the coming days as the trial continues.
