A FAMILY is desperately searching for a young woman who went missing while in a Yoga retreat in Guatemala.
Nancy Ng, 29, was last seen on October 19, when she went on a kayaking trip with members of her retreat.
Professionals have been searching for Ng over the past weeks, reports KABC.
Witnesses have been providing vague answers about Ng’s disappearance and some have to Southern California, leaders of the search effort have said.
Authorities are pushing for a criminal investigation to look into matters further.
“I miss my Nancy very much,” said her mother Stephanie Li.
“And hope the government helps us find answers and bring her home.”
Ng’s sister, Nicky Ng, pleaded for anyone with information to share it with the family.
“We’re begging you: If anyone saw anything that could help us, just direct us where to look,” she said.

“Because we need answers.”
The FBI and State Department have been working with authorities in Guatemala to solve the case.
Ng works for the Alhambra Unified School District.
A GoFundMe has been set up to collect funds for the search.
“With the help of Guatemala’s National Tourism Assistance Program and some kind locals, we have mobilized search and rescue efforts,” reads the page.
“The purpose of this fundraiser is to help support these efforts as well as the Ng Family as they navigate this unfamiliar, terrifying situation.”
According to Chris Sharpe, a member of the Black Wolf Helicopters search and rescue team, witnesses haven’t collaborated with the responsible authorities.
He’s now doubting if she went kayaking at all.
“For me, this is now becoming a criminal investigation because the witnesses who were there at a material time are not being forthcoming,” he said.
