A MOTHER accused of fatally shooting her two sons has said their deaths were an accident after the boys were shot in the head and four bullets were shot within 30 seconds.

Tiffanie Lucas, 32, was arrested on Wednesday, hours after a neighbor discovered her sons – Jayden, 9, and Maurice, 6 – covered in blood at their home in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, just outside Louisville.

The boys were rushed to a hospital, where they died from their injuries.

Lucas was found collapsed on her front lawn, according to reports.

She was later arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

Detective Richard Beal with the Bullit County Sheriff’s Office said during a hearing on Monday that both boys were shot in the head.

“I asked Miss Lucas if she meant to hurt her children. She indicated that it was an accident,” said Beal.

“She also made some comments such as, quote, ‘I’m in such a bad spot.'”
