A TIKTOKER has been forced to live out of boxes after a construction mistake that took months to correct.
Crystal Nicole is a beauty, lifestyle, and fashion content creator with more than 332,000 followers on TikTok.
She shared the horror story of living at a construction site while doing her makeup.
“No this is not a drill…so buckle in,” Crystal said while applying her foundation.
She explained that she planned to leave her current apartment last July and gave a 45-day notice to her landlord as she wanted to move into a different apartment within the same complex.
The new apartment had different cabinets and a bigger layout.
“So when I moved into my apartment [that] I’m in right now, I literally moved in the same day that I saw the apartment because I needed one ASAP,” Crystal said.
She wanted to move in because the apartment had white-on-white cabinets but she was told that it wasn’t available at first but was later told that it actually was.
“And then I walked in and, boom, I had white-on-brown cabinets,” she said.
“And and that point, I was like, you know what? I’m just gonna take the white-on-brown cabinets because I need an apartment. Like, I literally have nowhere else to go.”
Crystal moved in and stayed in the apartment for a year but when it came time to get a new lease, she wanted to make sure to get the apartment with the cabinets she wanted.
“Now, I was told that combination with the white-on-white is called a light finish package,” she said. “And the dark finish package is the one that has white cabinets up top and the brown cabinets on the bottom.”
Because of this, the entire time she was searching for a new apartment, she exclusively looked at apartments that were listed as having the light finish package.
Crystal finally found the apartment she wanted and went through all the paperwork, paid the money, hired a mover, and packed all her belongings for the new apartment.

“Everything is in boxes,” she said.
She asks to get the keys a day early and goes to see her new apartment but realizes that upon walking in, it actually has the dark finish package.
“And it’s the exact same cabinets as the one I have in my current apartment,” she said.
After a heated discussion with her building management, Crystal explains that the manager told her the white-on-white cabinets she wanted were actually part of the dark finish package.
“Because it has a black backsplash and that’s why they go off to identify, white versus black. Not the actual color of the cabinets,” she said.
Crystal explained that she didn’t want to move into the apartment “but the problem is all the deposits, all the money, all the transfer, everything has gone through and now it’s not happening.”
She canceled her movers and the cleaning company she hired before giving the keys back to the building manager.
Crystal had to pick a new two-bedroom apartment out of the available options they had left but it still wasn’t ready to be moved in yet.
“Do you know when it’s gonna be ready? August first,” she said at the time. “Mind you, this is July 17th.”
Crystal posted the video on July, 28.
“When I tell y’all, ticked off, mad, upset…does not even begin to describe how I feel right now.”
She showed off the patched-up holes on the walls, saying it’s all over the apartment.
“I’m literally living in a construction site at the moment,” she said, adding that she had been living out of boxes since her stuff had already been packed away.
“I’m so upset but what can I do at this point? There is literally nothing I can do but wait for what I actually want,” she said.
