JEREMY Corbyn has finally admitted Hamas are a terrorist group but claimed Israel is behind “acts of terror too”.

The ex-Labour leader, 74, said Hamas was responsible for “indiscriminate killing” before insisting their attacks were comparable to Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Writing in the left-wing Tribune Magazine, he said: “If we understand terrorism to describe the indiscriminate killing of civilians, in breach of international law, then of course Hamas is a terrorist group.

“The targeting of hospitals, refugee camps and so-called safe zones by the Israeli army are acts of terror too; and the killing of more than 11,000 people, half of whom are children, cannot possibly be understood as acts of self-defence.

“We should not entertain questions from those who have no interest in applying this basic consistency.”

The comments came after The Telegraph reported Corbyn was pictured with Hamas-sympathising journalist Adnan Hmidan at a march last weekend.

Corbyn previously declined to agree that Hamas are terrorists more than 15 times in a heated interview with TalkTV host Piers Morgan.

Instead he said “everybody knows what they are” before adding: “I do not approve, support or welcome Hamas.”

Last week Sir Keir Starmer said he was “taken aback and shocked” by his predecessor’s refusal to brand Hamas terrorists, adding: “His days as a Labour MP are over.”

Corbyn was stripped of the Labour whip in 2020 and now sits as an independent.
