SUSPECTED murderer Sam Haskell sent a text to his friend about chopped up bodies before he allegedly dismembered his wife.

A former friend of Haskell’s shared the text exchange and more information about the suspected killer after Haskell’s arrest in the murders of his wife and in-laws.

Haskell was charged on November 13 with the murders of his wife, Mei Li, and her parents, Yanxiang Wang and Gaoshan Li.

He was arrested after a torso believed to belong to Mei was found in a dumpster in Encino, California, around 16 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

Cops have not yet confirmed the identity of the remains and the bodies of Haskell’s in-laws have not been located.

‘VERY TROUBLED’

After his arrest, Haskell’s ex-personal trainer and friend, Troy Piedade, opened up about his interactions with the alleged killer.

Months before the murder of his wife and in-laws, Haskell surprisingly told Piedade that a movie, The Forever Purge, made him queasy because of the gory scenes.

“Forever Purge was a little different fools really be getting chopped up in Mexico for real it’s hard for me to enjoy a movie about it, I’m down with Purge 2 anarchy,” he told his ex-trainer in text messages obtained by TMZ.

Haskell added that he wanted to make a movie with Piedade and referred to him as his “big bro.”

Piedade said that he had known Haskell for 14 years and had always sensed there was something “off” about him.

Haskell would often mess with people at the gym because he believed that Piedade would protect him, Piedade said.

He described his ex-friend and client as “very troubled” but said he never could picture him committing a triple murder.

The trainer was not the only person who got a bad impression from Haskell.

Before Mei and her parents disappeared, a friend of hers also said that she thought there was something “off” about her husband.

The friend told local ABC affiliate KABC that she met Haskell after inviting Mei to a house party.

“They came there… very nice, beautiful, but the husband… I was shocked,” the unnamed friend said.

“Something seemed so off. Something seemed so weird.

“I kept saying to my family, ‘Something is wrong with her husband.’”

HORRIFYING DISCOVERY

Workers claimed that Haskell tried to trick them into removing garbage bags full of remains from his home on November 7.

He allegedly told them that they were disposing of rocks and trash, however, they thought it could be something else.

The laborers reported that the bags that were given to them were soggy and heavy, and at least one worker looked inside.

“I started seeing body parts, a belly button. I was astonished. Of course, I felt bad. We had been tricked,” a worker told local NBC affiliate KNBC.

The laborers were paid $500 to get rid of the bags but after finding out what was inside, they drove back to Haskell’s home and returned the money.

Once confronted about what the workers saw, Haskell allegedly tried to pass the remains off as old Halloween props.

The workers quit and it is alleged that the accused killer got rid of the bags himself.

“Haskell was allegedly observed and photographed a short distance from his home disposing a large trash bag into a dumpster,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office wrote while announcing the charges against him.

The following day, someone went through that dumpster and found human remains.

Haskell, the son of a prominent Hollywood agent, was arrested on suspicion of murder as cops searched for his in-laws, who lived with him, Mei, and their young sons.

The couple’s children – ages 6, 8, and 12, at the time of their mother’s disappearance – were found safe at school following the suspected murder.

THE ‘HOLLYWOOD KILLER’

Haskell was known around Hollywood as a director and producer who worked with esteemed celebrities such as Tyga and Machine Gun Kelly.

Before he was arrested, he was planning to make his directorial debut starring Mickey Koga, Alex Kawaguchi, and Kaile Goh.

Most people in the industry know his father, Sam Haskell III, who is a top Hollywood executive and agent.

During his career, he worked with a myriad of celebrities, won an Emmy Award, and is currently president of Magnolia Hill Productions — the company behind a number of Dolly Parton TV specials.

The younger Haskell’s arraignment is set for December 8, 2023, when he will have to enter a plea on the charges.
