A man allegedly made quite a scene at an Idaho gym, bothering two teens, trying to chase them and a Good Samaritan into an exercise mat room, crashing into a door in an escape attempt, breaking a window, and then trying to bite a cop taking him to jail.
Jacob Andrew Roberts, 21, currently sits in the Ada County jail on $5,000 bail for malicious injury to property, resisting or obstructing officers, and assault or battery upon certain personnel with intent to commit serious felony.
According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, cops in the city of Eagle got a 911 call just after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday regarding a man with a knife who broke a gym window and was covered in blood.

Officers arrived to find the shattered window, but Roberts was gone, deputies said.
A woman told them the suspect was acting strangely and bothering two teens who were working out. The teenagers tried to get away. Worried on their behalf, the woman stood between them and Roberts, telling the suspect to leave them alone.

She and the teenagers shut the door to the exercise mat room and blocked it with kettlebells to keep Roberts out, authorities said.
According to another witness, Roberts appeared to get even angrier when he could not get in the room.
“When another witness was about to call 911 to report what was going on, Roberts tried to leave the gym but ran into the front door and fell backwards when it didn’t open,” deputies wrote.
Roberts allegedly took a large knife out of his waistband, using it to smash a large glass window next to the door. He walked out.
Officers later found him behind a restaurant in the 100 block of E. State Street, where they arrested him.

According to deputies, paramedics treated him at the scene. Police took him to jail, but when he got out of the patrol vehicle for booking, he attempted to run away, and then he tried to bite an officer in the bicep during the ensuing struggle.
