An explosion involving a car on Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls has sparked chaos along the border, with all four land crossings between the US and Canada closed until more is known about the cause of the blast. 

The explosion was reported on Wednesday afternoon. It’s unclear if there are any fatalities or injuries, and the origin of it remains unknown. 

The City of Niagara Falls says the explosion came from a car that was trying to enter the US from Canada. The FBI is now investigating.

In a statement, the field office said: ‘The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the US and Canada in Niagara Falls. 

‘The FBI is coordinating with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. 

‘As this situation is very fluid, that’s all we can say at this time,’ the bureau said.
