Officer James “Jimmy” Nowak of the Milwaukee Police Department was involved in an automobile accident in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, on December 3.

James Nowak Car Accident Update

According to Oak Creek police, a collision between a car and a semi-truck occurred on Sunday night near Pennsylvania and Poplar avenues, seriously injuring an off-duty Milwaukee police officer.

Nowak is in critical condition at Froedtert Hospital, according to Oak Creek police. Police stated that they do not expect him to live.

The semi attempted to make a U-turn while both of the vehicles were travelling south on Pennsylvania, according to an Oak Creek police captain who spoke with WISN 12 News.

About a half mile from the crash scene on Pennsylvania Ave., a WISN 12 News crew noticed that there were no semi truck signs.

The driver of the semi-truck and the passenger stayed at the scene and are assisting with the investigation, according to Oak Creek police. They suffered no harm.
