THE COUSIN of a convicted killer and cult mom spoke out on the twisted situation.

Megan Connor is the cousin of Lori Vallow Daybell, who has been found guilty of the murder of her two children and of conspiracy to kill her husband’s ex-wife.

In an interview with Court TV, Connor talked about the duality of her cousin’s spirituality and her self-absorption.

Lori, 50, was sentenced to life in an Idaho prison without the possibility of parole in July.

She was also sentenced to 10 additional years after being convicted of grand theft, in which prosecutors argued that she killed her children to use the social security benefits they were receiving.

“It’s very obvious to all of us that for Lori, vanity came first,” said Connor. “Religiosity was a way for her to enhance her vanity.”

Her children, Joshua (JJ) Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16, went missing in September of 2019.

During the time of their disappearance, Lori and her fifth husband, Chad Daybell – who is an author of religious books – traveled to Hawaii and celebrated their recent marriage.

Her children’s remains were found on a property of Daybell’s, their bodies wrapped in plastic bags in a pet cemetery.

Connor said that Daybell referred to Lori as a “goddess,” which only fueled her heightened self-image.

“By all accounts, Charles adored Lori and treated her very well,” said Connor.

Although Connor only met Daybell once, when she talked to family members about his relationship with Lori, she said he made a majority of the sacrifices – going as far as moving to Hawaii for her and providing for her family members.

“He was a doting husband,” said Connor. “He was a great dad who cared about his kids. He was just a good man.”

Lori’s children were not the only victims.

Charles Vallow, 62, Lori’s fourth husband with whom she lived in a Phoenix suburb, filed for divorce in February 2019 – just before she married Daybell.

Five months later, Charles was fatally shot by Lori’s brother, Alex Cox. who claimed self-defense.

It was believed Lori planned the murder with her sibling so she could marry Chad Daybell as well as get a hold of Charles’s $1 million life insurance policy.

Connor recounts that Lori told her family that Charles was having an affair. She then told the family she took his truck, emptied the business family bank account, and told the family not to have any contact with him.

“I see in these documents the classic discard – when Lori was done with you, she wanted to burn everything to the ground,” said Connor.

Lori, who is currently awaiting trial in Arizona, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiring to kill Charles and her niece’s ex-husband.
