After she became the latest star to leave camp on this year’s I’m A Celebrity, Danielle Harold has opened up about her close bond with Sam Thompson. The 31-year-old lifted the lid on her relationship with Sam, also 31, after the pair grew close while living in camp together.

Speaking to the Mirror, the actress said: “Sam was the first person that I spotted in the helicopter place when we did the tower trial at the beginning and we just clicked instantly.

“Sam is just my new brother. He is only calm when he’s sleeping. He has a cheeky little nap. We laugh, I say, ‘Oh you’re at 80 per cent,’ and then he’s like NAP and then ten minutes later he’s charged up to 100 per cent and he’s like a bunny rabbit running around.”

The former Eastenders star went on to credit Sam for building up morale in the camp and making everybody feel better. She continued: “He’s a superstar, if you’re dipping you haven’t got a choice, he’s there just charging you up again. He’s a superduper bloke.

“You don’t go in thinking you’ll be making crazy friendships and I truly have made friends with everyone in there to have 12 best mates. It’s just incredible.”

Danielle also credited Jamie Lynn Spears as a close pal and insisted she would be going to America to visit her, as well as welcoming her to London too. Danielle was in the bottom two with Tony Bellew and managed 20 days in the Australian jungle, fighting off leeches, ticks and the harsh weather.

Viewers of the show were furious that Danielle had been booted from the jungle and Nigel Farage was still surviving the vote. Taking to their accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter, user @Ellarosejcksn fumed: “What is wrong with the British public?

“Keeping Nigel in??? Completely stupid bunch of people no wonder the countries in the state it is if this is how you vote. #ImACelebrity #ImACeleb.” (sic)

Danielle joined Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly to discuss her time on the show and opened up about the close bond she shared with Josie Gibson and Sam.

She said: “When you are in there you don’t think you are on TV, I know that sounds crazy but you forget, you just feel like your camping with your mates.”
