DISGRACED US representative George Santos has begged for forgiveness after he was ousted from Congress for fabricating his resume.

Santos, 35, sat down with TalkTV’s Piers Morgan to make his case on why he deserves a second chance.

George Santos made history for the Republican party during his short tenure as the US representative for New York’s 3rd congressional district.

In January, he was the first openly gay Republican to be elected to Congress, and, less than a year later, was the first party member to be expelled from the House.

Soon after being elected, news outlets began reporting inconsistencies in the story he told on the campaign trail.

According to the reports, Santos has lied about his education, work experience, property ownership, ethnicity and religion, among other things.

Some of the highlights include allegedly using donor money to fund purchases at Hermes and OnlyFans, lying to collect unemployment, falsely claiming he worked at Wall Street and being a volleyball star at a college he never attended, prosecutors say.

In May 2023, he was indicted on 12 criminal charges, including counts of wire fraud, money laundering and theft of public funds.

A second federal indictment with similar charges was filed in October 2023.

Santos has admitted to lying about some of his history but still pleaded not guilty to all accusations.

In December 2023, Santos was expelled from Congress after a damning ethics report was released.

While the oust sparked a flurry of media attention and television spots for the defamed politician, his future remains grim.

In an exclusive interview airing on TalkTV and Fox Nation, broadcaster Piers Morgan first asked Santos why he would threaten his freedom with years of lies.

“I don’t have an answer for you. I really don’t,” Santos said before pausing for an awkward staring contest.

Morgan went on to ask whether Santos had a difficult childhood or any reason that would trigger the need for money and fame.

Santos responded, “No can’t explain it, can’t explain it. Sorry Piers.”

The former politician, who briefly lived in Brazil with his family, also addressed what his late mother would have thought about his behavior.

She was a focal point of his storytelling on the campaign trail with Santos claiming that she was a self-made female executive at a “financial institution.”

However, after her death, she was described as a cook in Brazilian news outlets.

When asked how she would react to his story, Santos said she would have “smacked me to hell.”

“She was, tough lady. She would have physically assaulted me… because it was unacceptable,” he said.

“The fact I had to open my mouth and say anything that wasn’t true, she would have beaten me to a crisp.”

At one point in the interview, Santos reflected on the years he has ahead and urged the American people to give him a second chance.

“Don’t count me out,” he said in a moment of rare sincerity.

“I’ve given many people a second chance, and I’m asking everybody to please give me a second chance.

“We all make mistakes if you really take a look deep inside, and I am sorry.

“I look forward to continuing to be a voice for those who seek leadership in me.”

Santos is due back in court for a hearing on one of his indictments on January 23.
