Ray Cortopassi is an American journalist who is currently a news anchor for WGN News in Chicago, Illinois. He confirmed that he will be joining WGN as its evening news anchor from 5–6 p.m. on September 28, 2020.

Before this, he worked as a news anchor and reporter for FOX59 in Indianapolis since joining the team in 2009. He anchors the station’s morning news from 7 to 10 a.m. alongside Angela Genote and First at Four with Beairshelle Edmé. His journalism career runs for as long as 25 years.

Before joining FOX59, Ray worked as an anchor and reporter at TV stations in Traverse City, Michigan, and Las Vegas, Nevada. He has a passion for telling stories and has been honored with Emmy and Associated Press awards during his years in Indianapolis.

Moreover, he has his origins in Dolton, Illinois, a south suburb of Chicago. Ray loves deep-dish pizza, and having grown up the son of a piano teacher, he picked up the drums and loves alternative rock-n-roll. He also served as the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce from 2008 to 2011.
