Sir Rod Stewart appeared to have his hand wrapped in bandages as he went on a night out. The star was attending a performance of Cabaret the musical at the Playhouse Theatre tonight when he was pictured outside the venue.

The 79-year-old Maggie May singer looked dapper as ever as he sported a burnt orange velvet jacket with a vibrant, patterned waistcoat underneath. The rock star accessorised with a black and gold striped tight, which he wore over a white shirt.

Sir Rod paired the statement pieces with some simple black trousers and finished off the look with some leopard-print shoes. However, it was hard to miss the white bandages on the icon’s right hand, which suggests he has sustained some kind of injury.

The rocker is yet to address what happened to his right hand, but he appeared to otherwise be in good health as he left the theatre. The star has previously undergone serious medical procedures for his past injuries.

In 2020, Sir Rod had to undergo knee surgery after hurting himself while playing football. The star was on crutches after having his knee replaced and also had to have ankle fusion surgery around the same time.

A few days ago, the musician celebrated his 79th birthday, with his wife Penny Lancaster taking to social media to reveal the present she had surprised him with.

Taking to Instagram at the time, the 52-year-old confessed to her 192,000 followers that it was difficult to find Sir Rod a gift, as he has “everything” he could ever need.

However, given the star’s love of model railways, the former model decided to take a gamble and purchase him a train-themed present.

The Loose Women star ended up buying Sir Rod a 1940s train cabin book nook, which creates a motion scene, from Anvarin, retailing at £184.

Writing on her Instagram story, Penny revealed: “What I bought my man who has everything.”

Sir Rod and Penny have been married since 2007 and share two children together, while the rock musician is also a father of six other children from previous relationships.
