GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Leandra Nicol Young, 26, of Archer, was arrested yesterday and charged with theft from a person over 65 after allegedly stealing jewelry and other items from a housecleaning client.

Young was reportedly employed by the victim from January 2022 through December 2023, and she allegedly took multiple pieces of jewelry, with an estimated value of $1,938, from the victim over that time.

Post Miranda, Young reportedly admitted stealing the victim’s property and also admitted taking items from other elderly victims, some of whom are still unknown, while cleaning houses.

Young has no criminal convictions. Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $10,000 but ordered that she can be released on her own recognizance if accepted to Drug Court.
