Russell Wilson took to Instagram on Thursday to share a heartwarming photo of himself with his bonus son, Future Zahir.

In the sweet photo, Future has his arms around the Denver Broncos quarterback’s neck as they both smiled at the camera. “Forever”, Wilson simply captioned.

The comments section filled with admiration for the strong connection between the father and his son.

One person expressed, “This is what every mother wants for her children, a stable, loving, healthy, consistent dad. I absolutely love this!” one person wrote.

Wilson has wholeheartedly embraced his role as a stepfather to Future Zahir, who entered his life at just 9 months old when he started dating Ciara. Reflecting on this experience, Wilson expressed in an interview with GQ in 2021 that having Future in his life was not only a blessing but also an opportunity to be a consistent presence in the young boy’s life.

“The reality of being a stepparent is that biologically they’re not necessarily yours, but the reality is that you have to love them as if they are,” Wilson shared. “They’re your own blood in a way. You get to love them that way. And I think every kid deserves that and needs that and yearns for that.”

Earlier this year, Wilson took a moment to celebrate Future’s 9th birthday, expressing love and admiration for his “young king”.

“Happy 9th Bday Young King! Future, We love you. 9 represents confidence, skill & wisdom! The last of the single digits,” Wilson wrote. “You are a Leader, Compassionate to others, an amazing big brother, and an amazing son. But most importantly you are a Child of God!”

“The big 9!!! So so proud,” Ciara commented on the post. “I love my boys so much”

In addition to son Future Zahir, Russell and Ciara, who wed in 2016, also share daughter Sienna Princess, 6, Win Harrison Wilson, 3, and newborn daughter Amora.

Future Zahir Wilburn is Ciara’s son from a previous relationship with rapper Future.
