Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Andrew Tony Ware, 39, was arrested yesterday morning after allegedly throwing a brick through a glass door to break into a church.

At about 8:45 a.m. yesterday, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a call from Johnson Chapel, 1334 NE 4th Avenue. The caller said she heard a loud noise at about 6:30 p.m. the previous evening and saw Ware walking into the church.

The officer reported that when he arrived, the front door glass was shattered and a cement brick was lying next to the door. Ware was reportedly sitting on a bench in the foyer of the church.

Ware reportedly told the officer his name was Craig Bullock, but officers learned his correct name after he was fingerprinted at the jail.

Ware has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied building and providing a false name to law enforcement. Judge Sheree Lancaster set bail at $52,500.

Ware has Marion County convictions for driving without a valid license, marijuana possession, petit theft, battery, resisting without violence, trespassing, and panhandling.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
