LAWYERS representing a socialite who allegedly killed two brothers with her SUV after a boozy lunch have shifted the blame to her ex-MLB star lover.

Rebecca Grossman, 60, and Scott Erickson were both seen blazing toward the Los Angeles crosswalk where Mark, 11, and Jacob Iskander, 8, were both hit and killed on September 29, 2020.

Grossman, who is the wife of celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Peter Grossman, has been charged with the boys’ murder but has maintained her innocence in an ongoing trial.

Her defense team is arguing that Erickson, a former LA Dodgers player, was the one who killed the children, despite witnesses pointing the finger at Grossman.

Hours before the fatal crash, Grossman and Erickson met for a cocktail-filled lunch at a restaurant near Westlake Village, a residential suburb of the city.

Prosecutors have alleged that Grossman left in a white SUV while Erickson trailed behind in a black vehicle.

Two vehicles matching that description were seen zooming at up to 82 miles per hour down a Westlake road where the Iskander family was crossing the street, witnesses said in court, per the Los Angeles Times.

The Los Angeles courtroom heard a heartwrenching testimony from the boys’ mother Nancy who claimed one of her son’s body flew dozens of feet after he was struck.

She said she had just seconds to grab her five-year-old child and dive away from the cars.

Though she didn’t see exactly who killed her children, she said, “I care about my kids… and I know who killed them.

“Her car ran them over. I know that she killed them, I know. Please try to understand.”

Grossman’s defense attorney has been trying to turn the attention on Erickson and pointed out to jurors that his car was never inspected after the crash.

They’re arguing that the boys were struck by Erickson’s car first before their bodies were flung toward Grossman’s vehicle.

Meanwhile, Grossman was found standing in front of her crushed Mercedes which had rolled to a stop due to the damages, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Rafael Mejia testified in court.

“She told me her vehicle was disabled by Mercedes-Benz and her airbags went off, and she did not know what was going on,” Mejia said in court.

“She said she hit something, but she didn’t know what she hit.”

In a strange turn, Grossman’s defense attorney Tony Buzbee started asking several witnesses whether they saw a 6-foot-4, 250-pound man hiding in the bushes – a description that fits Erickson.

A confused Deputy Cody Gaudet responded that there weren’t many bushes in the area of the crash, and a bystander would have been noticeable.

“That would be a concern if we had,” he said.

No witnesses reported seeing a figure who matched Erickson’s description.

Erickson was charged with a reckless driving misdemeanor after the crash, but the charges were dropped after he released a PSA about the importance of safe driving.

Grossman was separated from her husband at the time of her date with Erickson, court records show.

They’ve since been photographed walking arm in arm to her court appointments.

‘ZIGZAG’ DRIVING

Witnesses have claimed that the cars were racing at up to 81 miles per hour before the crash and then traveled another half mile after the boys had been struck.

Nancy previously testified that it appeared the two cars were “zigzagging with each other, as if they were playing or racing.”

Photos taken after the crash of Grossman’s SUV appeared to show the front of the car completely crushed.

Police have said Grossman’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was read below California’s legal limit of 0.08%, measuring at 0.076% with a breathalyzer.

However, a blood test completed after the crash showed her BAC at 0.08%.

Prosecutors have also claimed the socialite was on Valium at the time, and are arguing that could have further impaired her.

She has not been charged with driving under the influence,

Prosecutors must prove that Grossman knew that allegedly driving at top speeds could have endangered human life.

If convicted on all charges, Grossman faces 34 years to life in prison.

The trial has been estimated to last approximately 60 days, The U.S. Sun previously reported.
