Jim Biden Testifies in Impeachment Inquiry, Gets Asked Some Spicy Questions by Reporter

The House Oversight and Judiciary Committees had Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden, testifying on Wednesday behind closed doors as part of the impeachment inquiry.

Even before the questioning, reporters had a lot of questions for him at the door.

He was asked what he would tell the Committees and he said, “The truth.”

He also got some really spicy questions including if his brother was mentally competent to be president, and if “Hunter smoked crack at the White House?”

It doesn’t appear that James Biden answered those questions.

While the testimony was behind closed doors, some of it has come out, including his ten-page opening statement

His statement is ridiculous in the sense that there’s more than a page about when Joe’s wife and daughter were killed in the car accident and how he, Jim, was involved in helping. What does that have to do with any questions about the family’s questionable financial dealings now? Not much. It was just a sympathy plea.

He denied that his brother “had any involvement or any direct or indirect financial interest” in his business ventures.

He claimed, “I have always kept my professional life separate from our close personal relationship.”

Sounds a lot like Joe saying he never talked about his son’s business. That turned out not to be true, in spades.

“I never asked my brother to take any official action on behalf of me, my business associates, or anyone else,” James Biden said. “In every business venture in which I have been involved, I have relied on my own talent, judgment, skill, and personal relationships—and never my status as Joe Biden’s brother.”

He added: “Those who have said or thought otherwise were either mistaken, ill informed, or flat-out lying.”

James Biden stressed that Joe Biden “played no role, was not involved with, and received no benefits” from his work with Chinese energy company CEFC, or the healthcare company Americore.

That of course conflicts with what Tony Bobulinski has said about CEFC. Bobulinski said that Joe Biden was involved and he met with him. So James Biden also attacked Bobulinski in his statement, claiming that he, James, never tried to involve his brother Joe in the business.

Days before Bobulinski’s testimony, another former business associate, Rob Walker, testified that Joe Biden met with the chairman of the Chinese energy firm CEFC that his brother and son did business with.

After Walker’s testimony, the House Oversight Committee said it was able to “now confirm Joe Biden met with nearly every foreign national who funneled money to his son.”

As we previously reported, Jim Biden also allegedly used his brother’s name as part of his pitch in trying to make Americore deals. He also got a $200,000 payment/loan from Americore and then gave $200,000 to Joe the same day.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer asked Joe Biden to pony up the documents proving it was a “loan” but noted in any event this was a benefit to Joe.
