Fern Britton's brutal six-word reply on Phillip Schofield who she hasn't seen in 15 years

Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield presented This Morning for seven years until the former abruptly quit the ITV daytime programme.

In a new interview, the 66-year-old issued a six-word response when asked about her ex-colleague and whether they have met up since she left ITV in 2009.

Fern opened up about their ongoing rift as she admits she hasn’t spoken to her former friend and colleague in over 15 years.

When asked if she had seen Phillip since leaving This Morning, she issued a six-word response.

“I haven’t spoken to him, no,” Fern told the Daily Mail.

At the time of her departure from the show, reports claimed she had been unhappy that Phillip was being paid more than her for the same role.

Ahead of her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in a candid interview, Fern said she won’t have anything to say to her fellow contestants about the pair’s fallout.

“I will truthfully say I have nothing to tell them about This Morning over the last few years, because I haven’t been there,” she told the same publication.

When asked whether it was her choice to leave the ITV programme, Fern said: “To leave This Morning? Ultimately, yes. I loved it and I would probably still be there if….Phillip and I were not getting on very well at that stage.”

She added: “Lots of the men you work with are much more fussed about their piece to camera and how many words they’ve got than they are about you.”

Her comments come after Fern’s most recent dig at the broadcaster who quit This Morning in May last year. Following his exit, Phillip admitted to an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a younger colleague.

During Wednesday’s instalment of CBB, she admitted she would quit the show if her ex-colleague entered the house.

While speaking with Gary Goldsmith, she began by confessing that her time on This Morning was “tricky at times”, comparing the show to the monarchy, after she and Gary, who is Princess Kate’s uncle, discussed the Royal Family together.

She explained: “It was tricky at times, and it’s another institution, a programme like that, like the monarchy – it rocks but it gets back together again.”

Gary told Fern: “I think it [This Morning] lost its personality – having a range of different hosts.

“But it was rumoured Phillip’s going to come in – here!”

“Oh well, that didn’t happen – yet! Maybe he’s coming in as a surprise,” Fern exclaimed in response, to which Gary chuckled: “Imagine!”

Fern laughed and admitted: “Well, yeah, I might have to leave at that point!”

She presented This Morning from 1999 until her departure in 2009.
