GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ebone Jente Gordon, 41, was arrested early this morning after allegedly punching and threatening her boyfriend with a knife at GRACE Marketplace.
At about 7:51 a.m. this morning, Gordon allegedly banged the victim’s head, kicked him in the torso, and punched him in the head after he reportedly asked to use her cell phone. The victim reportedly walked away from her, but she allegedly followed him, pulled a knife from her waist, and tried three times to stab him; the victim reportedly moved back to avoid being stabbed. She allegedly walked into the dorm and gave the knife to an unknown man who could not be located; the knife was not found.
The entire incident was reportedly caught on surveillance video.
Post Miranda, Gordon said she was defending herself because the victim had been punching her all day.
The responding Gainesville Police Department officer noted that Gordon and the victim are both homeless and have been receiving services at GRACE Marketplace.
Gordon has been charged with domestic aggravated assault and tampering with evidence. Her address is listed as Orlando, and she has one felony conviction and two misdemeanor convictions in Orange County, along with a number of dropped charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery. Her bail will be set on July 14.
